‘hoodies’ and ageing – what do they have in common?

Stereotypes can be self limiting prophecies that restrict our understanding and tolerance. While they can assist us in dealing with the complexity of the world we live in by categorising and grouping common set of characteristics to a group, they can cloud our vision of the world when they limit our understanding.

What do you thnk of when you see a ‘hoodie’ or ‘bunny hug’. This video produced to promote intergenerational partnerships, challenge preceptions and presents a radically different image of the old people in our community.

Perhaps we need stark contrasts such as these of our image of the aged to begin to challenge our views of the aged . Time to think outside of the box.
